Our Story...

In 1993, White Mountain K9 started in the resort town of Lincoln, offering in-home obedience and behavior counseling. During the next few years, White Mountain K9's reputation for emphasizing an effective yet gentle means of training and an unmatched level of customer service grew throughout NH and into the neighboring states of Maine and Vermont. Our client base has since spread across the country.

In 1999 we purchased Ebony Boarding Kennel, a well-respected business located in Plymouth, NH.

This purchase allowed us to expand . our training offerings to include Agility, Advanced Obedience, Canine Good Citizen and Pet Therapy programs. To reflect our expanded offerings, we renamed our training operation to White Mountain K9 Academy.

In 2003 we launched the Pets' Country Store, an online storefront offering many training and feed related items for pets.

In 2005 White Mountain K9 Academy became a limited liability corporation and hence added "LLC" after the name. This change allows us a much more secure standing in event of litigation. Shortly after becoming an LLC, Ebony Kennel became a division of White Mountain K9 Academy, LLC. For the following three years, we continued offering our training services for not only dogs, but cats, rats and fish as well. Realizing that our business name with "K9" in the title somewhat pigeon-holed us into a public perception of only offering training services for dogs, we formed the White Mountain College for Pets. This name better represents our current and future training services in an all encompassing title. The College for Pets website was launched in early 2009, to serve pets around the world

We are revolutionizing the way pets are training with our Virtual Online Classroom. This exciting new format allows people and their pets, anywhere in the world, too benefit from the training services we offer. Using live webcam technology, live action video, text download and live interactive chat sessions, White Mountain College for Pets can bring a level of training into your home via the internet, that rivals traditional face-to-face lessons.

Of course, we will continue to offer traditional face-to-face training because no matter how great an online format may be, it will never be a complete replacement for real-life interaction.
